If you missed it, you can check out my Five Tips to Refresh Your Home for Summer along with Part 1 of my Summer Home Tour here. Summers here in California can get really hot. There are so many fun activities and events going on that it feels like we are always on the go, and so exhausted at the end of those long fun-filled days. During the Summer especially, I want our Master bedroom to be a fresh, calm, clean retreat to sink into at the end of the day. (more…)

The arrival of Spring brings so many wonderful things: Sunshine, rebirth, warmer weather, and for many of us an undeniable urge to clean, organize, and refresh our homes. One area of my home that has been feeling a little lackluster lately is my dining room. I am hoping to re-do the space at some point in the near future, so I have been shopping around and gathering tons of inspiration.

I put this Spring Dining Room Makeover inspiration board together using items from Cost Plus World Market (if you have been following my blog for any length of time you are already well aware of my obsession with that store). One of the things I love most about World Market is the wide array of styles they carry. They have everything from Contemporary, to Mid-Century Modern, to BoHo, to Farmhouse, and so much more. I think that true beauty is born when you can mix styles effortlessly, and World Market makes that so easy by having so many beautiful styles right at our fingertips. They carry a huge variety of furniture, home decor, entertaining essentials, and so much more, which made it so easy to find everything I could possibly want for my Spring Dining Room makeover in one place.
For my new dining room, I would like to keep the main pieces in line with my modern farmhouse style, but I also really want to bring in some more fresh and fun elements for the Spring season. I am so in love with the way these neutral Farmhouse style pieces from World Market mix with the clean, bright, modern gold and marble elements, fresh greenery, and soft subtle pops of color for a beautiful & fun Spring Dining Room makeover.
Now I just need to convince my husband that we need everything on this board, because I have fallen head over heels in love with every bit of it and I need it all in my dining room stat!

Hey everyone! I hope you all have enjoyed this long holiday weekend! My style has been going through a little bit of a transition recently, and I have been having so much fun incorporating subtle, neutral bits of the boho trend into my existing modern farmhouse style.
Yesterday I took my Instagram followers on a HomeGoods shopping trip with me via IG stories. I scored some really amazing finds (pictured above) including this fun Flokati stool, gorgeous vintage gray accent rug, and bold black and white geometric / tribal tassel rug. You all had so many questions about these fun finds, and lots of great input too. (I finally settled on the black and white rug in the kitchen and the gray vintage in the entryway. Thanks for the help deciding!) Anyways, since so many people were interested but these don’t have online sources (they were lucky HomeGoods finds), I have scoured a few of my favorite online sources to find some similar items for you.
I have linked up a few of my favorite similar items below.

Oh hey! Remember me? Things have been crazy busy around here, but I’m hoping to return to a more consistent posting schedule now that things have settled down a bit. Thanks for sticking around! I’ve missed you guys!
So last weekend we threw my daughter’s 2nd birthday party. She specifically requested a Minnie Mouse birthday. I thought I had at least a couple more years before I would have to begrudgingly peruse the overwhelming character aisles of the party supply store. Of course there is nothing wrong with character parties. If the character decor they carry in the store suits your style, then by all means go for it! But if you are like me and the thought of hot pink and bright purple character posters and streamers plastered all over your house sends you into a panic, then you can probably understand where I’m coming from.
But I know this girl’s love for Minnie Mouse (She met her at Disneyland last month and stared at her in awe and hugged her six times and kissed her little nose and giggled uncontrollably). I see her dancing all over the living room to “The Hot Dog Song” when Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is on TV. Who am I to deny a two year old her birthday party dreams? I set to work to create a fun, girly, stylish Minnie Mouse Birthday Soiree that she would love even more than a store bought, commercial character party (and that didn’t send my simple, neutral loving heart into freakout mode). With some time, effort, and a whole lot of DIY, I made it happen. And you know what? She LOVED it! She has been raving about her Minnie Mouse Birthday party every day since, and it feels so good knowing that I created that for her.
Every year I am so bad about putting a Christmas wish list together. I get so excited about buying gifts for loved ones, and I forget to even think about what I want and / or need. It usually takes multiple instances of people saying “Ok Steph… Christmas is a week away. Please tell me what you want” for me to finally come up with a few things that I think might be nice to have.
This year I decided to be on the ball so I’m ready when my mom says “Ok honey, send me your Christmas wish list please!” Now that I am Mom-ing and blogging, I have found it a lot easier to come up with a list of things I could use.
Here are some of the items on my Christmas wish list. These are all things that I either need or want and would love to have. They would also make great gifts for any laid back, hard-working ladies you know. You can shop these items by clicking the photo of the item on the gift guide, or the links below.
Happy Friday! I hope you have all had a wonderful week. As promised, I am back with the fourth and final portion of my Christmas Home tour today. (You can catch up here with Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.) I am so excited to share our Christmas master bedroom with you today! This is the first year I have decorated our bedroom for the holidays, and I am definitely hooked! I love the cozy, cheerful, festive feeling it brings to this space that we so love spending time in.
Happy Wednesday! We had the most wonderful trip to Disneyland, but now we are home getting back into our routine and prepping for the Holidays! I am so excited to be back today to share with you my Christmas Tablescape! If you caught my Christmas Home Tour so far (click here for Part 1 and Part 2), you may have seen a little bit of my table already. However, I recently added to it to create the most beautifully simple, romantic, twinkly, Christmas dinner party setting and inspire your Holiday entertaining. This post is part of A Very Merry Tablescape Blog Hop with some very talented friends of mine. I have linked up to each of their posts below. Be sure to head over and check those out after you are done here!
Can you believe it is already December?? I am so excited, because not only is it Christmas, but it is also both my and my daughter’s birthday month, and we are celebrating by heading to Disney this weekend! She was actually born on my birthday which is so special to me. I definitely enjoy it even more now! Everyone always asks if I hate having my birthday so close to Christmas, and my answer NO. I actually love it! December is such a joyful month, and I have always loved celebrating my birthday in the midst of all of the Christmas festivities.
Anyways, speaking of Christmas… where are you at in your Holiday decorating this year? Are you one of those people who decorates the day after thanksgiving (or even before), or do you slowly make your way through decorating throughout the month? Either way, if you are looking for inspiration or you just like looking at pretty Christmas decor pictures, you have come to the right place! I am back today with Part 2 of my Christmas Home Tour!(more…)
