Happy Friday friends! I am so excited to share our newly finished master retreat with you today! Have you ever had a room in your home that just took forever to get its act together? Was it filled with a hodgepodge of mismatched “stuff” or a pile of boxes for far longer than you would like to admit? For us that was our master bedroom. (more…)
Happy Monday friends! One of the comments I get most often on Instagram is about my hand lettering and the chalkboard art I create for my home. Truth be told, I don’t have the best “every day” hand writing, so trust me when I tell you that you don’t need great penmanship to learn the art of beautiful hand lettering.
Baby Gates : A necessary evil when you’ve got little ones running around in a house with any amount of stairs, let alone a three story row home with two ridiculously tall stair cases. As soon as we saw the model for our house we knew that we were going to need at least a few baby gates, and after seeing the options
or lack thereof out there on the market, I knew I wanted to build our own. We needed at least a couple, and since they were going to be very visible in our home (you can see the first staircase right from the front door) I knew I wanted something custom and cute that would not stick out like a sore thumb. We used some cheap temporary gates as needed at first, and unfortunately since we had those and it wasn’t an immediate necessity, our big baby gate project kept getting put on the back burner. Now here we are, almost 8 months after moving in and we FINALLY have our first beautiful, custom baby gate up.
Happy Friday! I am so excited to be teaming up with some super talented bloggers for a Summer Home Refresh Blog Hop this weekend. From today through Sunday, we will be sharing how we have each refreshed our home for the Summer months. Be sure to follow the links at the end of my post and check out all of the amazingness each of these ladies has in store for you this weekend!
Hello friends! It’s been a while! This Summer has been a little nuts. It’s my first Summer with a toddler and there are just so many activities for her to do and things to explore and let’s be honest – I feel like I have a maximum of 2.5 hours during the day (aka nap time) to get anything accomplished. I’m working on figuring out a system to manage our days a little bit better, but I also love just letting her be a kid and have as much fun as possible – especially in the Summer. If any fellow stay-at-home Mamas have found a perfect balance there, I’m all ears! (more…)
Happy Memorial Day Weekend! Can you believe that May is almost over already? That means that Father’s Day is just around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about what you want to get for those special Dads in your life. This gift guide contains some of my current favorite gifts for Dad at every price point. My husband already has some of these gifts and (shh!) he’s getting a few more of them for his upcoming birthday and Father’s Day. I hope this helps to give you some ideas too!
Ah, the Magnolia wreath. That coveted beauty that every Fixer Upper fan, including myself, has been lusting after since the first time we saw JoJo hang one ever so perfectly in the newly renovated dream home of a client. There is just something so beautiful about the perfectly crafted green and gold leaves and the way they effortlessly cascade around the wreath. Instant farmhouse charm! (more…)
Hey Y’all! Welcome to my first DIY project post! I am so excited to share with you the cutest and easiest DIY blanket ladder you ever did see.
If you are a lover of design and home decor like me, and you are married to someone who is a lover a electronics like my husband, then you probably know all too well the struggle I am about to tell you. (more…)
Happy weekend everyone! I am back today with the next room in our home tour.
Our living room is where we spend the majority of our time as a family. It is where our daughter runs around and plays with her toys. It is where we entertain our guests and spend time with friends. It is where my husband and I snuggle up with a glass of wine after the baby is in bed and watch a movie or catch up on our shows. I wanted it to be cozy and personal but still stylish. I used lots of neutrals and natural elements and carried the industrial farmhouse style through this room. We used lots of metals and natural wood tones, and then brightened it up with whites, textures, pops of blue, and a few more feminine elements. (more…)
Hi Everyone! Happy Monday!
For the next part of our home tour, I wanted to show you our Dining Room and Kitchen. As I mentioned in the Den Tour, our house is a brand new three story “row style” home, so it is unique in that the entire main living area is on the second story. This includes our kitchen, dining area, living room, a bathroom, and a spare bedroom (my husband’s office). I love that even though the house is long and fairly skinny, the open concept of this floor makes it feel really bright and spacious.
Enjoy these photos of our dining area and kitchen! Read below for details on how I created this space.
