Happy November! It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and before we know it the busiest (but most wonderful!) time of the year will be in full force. Thanksgiving is wonderful, but prepping for it can be a stressful time, especially if you are hosting in your home. I have joined up with 15 talented women on Instagram to bring you a #flashesoffall IG hop to help get you ready for Thanksgiving stress-free. We have put together some helpful ideas and how-tos for everything from tablescapes to floral arrangements to recipes, and everything in between!
I designed this simple Fall vignette – perfect for a dining room buffet, entryway table, or any surface that needs some Fall / Thanksgiving love. You can’t go wrong with a few simple pumpkins, neutrals, greenery, and pops of gold for Fall. I absolutely love the way the modern elements and gold accents come together with the vintage books and rustic wood to create a beautiful, untraditional Thanksgiving display.
This entire look was created using decor items that I already had around my home. With everything else on the holiday to-do list, who wants to go out and spend more money on Thanksgiving decor? Not I! The books are a mixture of new and vintage and were rounded up from around my home, the wooden beads were a DIY, and I chalk painted some hideously bright orange faux pumpkins and painted the stems gold. I rounded up a few other coordinating bits of Fall decor I already had around the house, and voila! An inexpensive, simple Fall vignette that will look great anywhere in your home for Thanksgiving.
My top three tips to create a successful vignette are:
1. Use items of varying heights in a grouping to create interest.
2. Generally grouping an odd number of items works best (I tend to like threes).
3. If you are creating a vignette for a table display as I have done here, use items of similar height on each side to create symmetry without being matchy.
Don’t forget to head back to my Instagram account @belleamourblog and follow along through the rest of the #flashesoffall Instagram hop. Grab a beverage and get cozy because each of these ladies has a great tip or idea to get you ready for Thanksgiving and help you have a home that will make you so excited to gather together and celebrate with the ones you love. Enjoy the rest of your week friends!
Because most of these items are older or DIYed, I don’t have sources for many of the exact items, but I have put together a list of similar items if you are interested in shopping the look:
